No symptoms, just a starting point

No symptoms, just a baseline.

A baseline is the set of numbers your future results are compared with. It is most useful when nothing is wrong, because later changes then mean something. It is also where false alarms are most likely, so it needs reading with care.

In Indian context

Why it is worth a closer look.

  • Reference ranges come from large groups of healthy people, and it is common for healthy people to have some results outside them.1
  • Several standard lines read differently for South Asian adults, from BMI to how HbA1c is interpreted.2,3

What we look at

The markers, and why each one.

Which tests

Where those numbers come from.

What a physician does with it

Every package starts with the 400+ parameter assessment and a 60-minute consultation. A physician goes through the results with you, separates what matters from expected noise, and agrees what to retest and when.

The evidence, honestly

What testing can show, and what it can’t.

What the evidence supports

  • Testing Lp(a) once in adult life.4
  • Reading results in Indian context, such as HbA1c beside haemoglobin and ferritin.3

What it does not support

  • A baseline is not a clean bill of health, and an out-of-range result in a healthy person is often noise.1
  • More tests are not always better. Every extra marker adds a chance of a false alarm.
  • We do not sell tumour markers as screening for healthy people.

General education, not advice for you. What suits you depends on your results and history, and a physician decides it with you.

Questions people ask.

Is it worth testing if I feel fine?

A baseline is most useful when you feel fine, because it gives later results something to be compared with. The trade-off is that some results will be out of range by chance, which is why a physician reads them with you.

How often should I retest?

It depends on what the first results show. A physician agrees a retest plan with you rather than a fixed calendar for everyone.

Can I see what a report looks like first?

Yes. The sample report walks through a fictional member’s results, marker by marker.
