Exosomes are nanoscale extracellular vesicles (30-150 nanometres) that carry growth factors, cytokines, microRNA, and lipids as intercellular communication signals.
Exosomes activate fibroblasts for collagen synthesis (up to 3x more than microneedling alone), suppress NF-kB inflammation, reduce oxidative stress, and accelerate wound healing.
A September 2025 peer-reviewed study demonstrated measurable improvements in skin hydration, wrinkle reduction, and elasticity. A PMC study showed sustained outcomes at 21 months in pore size, erythema, and hyperpigmentation.
MSC-derived exosomes are most studied. ADSC-derived show promise for skin applications. iPSC-derived may carry a more youthful signalling profile.
Microneedling + exosomes (most popular), direct injection, post-laser application, and hydrogel sustained release.
No exosome product is FDA-approved for aesthetic use. Concerns include unclear sourcing, contamination risk, and marketing exceeding evidence.
Exosomes work best when internal health is optimised first — hormonal balance, anti-inflammatory nutrition, adequate sleep. They amplify regeneration; they do not replace foundational health.
At Genoryx, we approach skin rejuvenation as an outcome of optimised internal health. Book a consultation and ensure your biology is ready to respond.
